Description
The AMA Collection Manager polls Network Elements for AMA data with a flexible automatic schedule or manually with an easy to use web-based GUI. Collected AMA files can be formatted into required output format using a definable file naming configuration. Collected AMA data files are made available to the Billing Application Processor via FTP push or pull, then archived and rotated with a definable schedule.
Multiple Network Elements (AMA Transmitters) can be polled simultaneously while still maximizing the throughput of each X.25 interface, significantly reducing data collection time associated with legacy modem connections.
A unique advantage of the Microtronix Collection Manager solution is the incorporation of networking support for our X.25/TCP Gateway product. The unit connects directly to the X.25 or BX.25 port of the voice switch and to the local IP network eliminating the need for expensive X.25 equipment and/or modems with leased/dial lines and their associated support costs. By moving to an IP network, the solution boosts performance more than five times over the legacy X.25 network.
A web-based GUI interface provides configuration and management capabilities via a standard desktop internet browser. Command/shell access is also available locally or remotely via Telnet or Secure Shell.
The AMA Collection Manager software application also incorporates support for a variety of industry standard encapsulation and conversion methods used for transporting X.25 data across IP networks including: Applied Innovation AEPN, Cisco Record Boundary Preservation (RBP), XOT, and M-bit message preservation.
