The Access 3000 BX.25-TCP Gateway is designed for telcos with BX.25 voice switch equipment and migrating from X.25 dialup networking to an IP backbone network. The BX.25 interface is found on products such as the Lucent 5ESS/4ESS, Lucent 1A, Nortel DMS100 and Siemens EWSD. These voice switches are still in use today by many U.S. Regional Bell Operating Companies (RBOCs), IXCs, and CLECs. In most cases, these products cannot be upgraded to IP since cost may be prohibitive or no upgrade migration path exists.

The Access 3000 BX.25-TCP Gateway offers comprehensive solutions supporting both BX.25 to TCP conversion and BX.25 over TCP encapsulation. It is designed as a plug-and-play device only requiring the installer to configure the IP address. Using BX.25 over TCP encapsulation, existing applications will continue to operate without modification. No parameter configuration changes are required on the voice switching equipment or the collection manager system.
